Noise Monitoring Equipemnt
Independent Environmental Consultancy are full members of the Association of Noise Consultants and will fully consider your development in terms of relevant British Standards and World Health Organisation Guidelines.
If baseline wind turbine surveys are required, this involves the installation of noise monitoring equipment to record background noise levels at positions representative of residential properties over an extended period (normally over at least 2 weeks). It will also be necessary to install a weather mast located at the site in order to correlate meteorological conditions with the noise measurements.
CadnaA (Computer Aided Noise Abatement) software is used for the prediction of resulting noise levels at residential properties. Where criteria is predicted to be exceeded, it is necessary to reduce noise levels by revising the turbine layout or the turbine design.
