Sports and Leisure Facility Noise Surveys
An increasing number of Noise Impact Assessments to consider sports and leisure sources such as Skate Parks, Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs), Sports Stadia and Gyms have been commissioned by clients over recent years.
Whilst developments such as MUGAs have their own specific guidance document (Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP) Acoustics – Planning Implications), skate park assessments rely on a number of relevant standards and guidance including WHO Guidelines, BS8233, IEMA Guidelines for Environmental Noise Impact Assessment and CIEH Clay Target Shooting: Guidance on the Control of Noise.
It is also worth noting that BS4142 is not intended to be applied to the rating and assessment of sound from “recreational activities, including all forms of motorsport”.
IEC are experienced in providing noise consultancy support to recreation/sporting developments.
